A Japanese cultivar that has been around since the very early 1970s. Grown in Australian orchards the fruit has been available for many years, and is known by a name that we are not able to mention.

This is the first time in Australia that this mandarin that we call Ponkanomi is available to grow in your garden or plot.
We’re proud to grow this remarkable tree — under our name PONKANOMI — This name is a combination of the trees parents Kiyomi and Ponkan. This wonderful Mandarin hybrid was developed in Japan in 1972 
 Our Ponkanomi trees are proving to be exceptional performers — highly productive, fast-growing, and beautifully shaped with elegant, narrow leaves. Customers who purchased trees last year are already seeing abundant results.

Grow in the garden or in containers. It will grow up to around 3 metres it’s a bountiful tree when of an age to hold fruit.
Grown in our usual 165mm citrus long pot the tree is approx’ 600mm branched, grafted and professionally grown using Auscitrus virus indexed budwood.

Citrus enjoy a warm sheltered position
in the garden and require sun for most of the day and a rich composted soil.
Fruit will appear with good nurture and care, as a general rule in the second autumn after planting.
